A New Home for Vision Questing

I feel so excited and am full of gratitude for this amazing land that will hold our programs going forward. It is located about 45 minutes north of Dolores, Colorado in the southwest corner of that state. It is on the edge of the San Juan Mountains, long one of my favorite places. It has pretty much everything needed to host Questing programs. It is private, secluded, forested, and has a comfortable summer climate. And it has a supportive energy for “The Look Within”, ie, Vision Questing. Dawn and I each did a one-day Quest in July and I look forward to many more Quests there.

There is much to do before Dawn and I can host programs at this place. In my garage, I have built a composting toilet and the “outhouse” to hold it. Now we need to reassemble it onsite in Colorado. We also need water and intend to get a couple of cisterns installed and have deliveries, possibly add rainwater harvesting down the road. We will also build a shed to store our kitchen gear between programs and food during programs. The shed will include kitchen pavilion (a must during the afternoon storms common in mid-late summer in southwest Colorado).

I plan to host more programs at this land, both in frequency and range of offerings. Thinking about offering two dates each of Vision Quest and Seven Levels of Quest during 2024. Quest Protector will probably wait until 2025, and I still intend to bring a Rites of Passage program for young men to the Mountain states. Wilderness Quest and 10-day Quest will also be available, possibly coincident with the Vision Quest.

My heart is full of gratitude to Monica and John Spehler who have hosted us at their amazing Argyle Canyon land since 2016. And to Scott, Holly, and Michelle for helping hold the space and, especially, the Questers who committed to learn the Truth about themselves (and taught me much along the way).

G*d Bless, Matt
